Construction: Nicaraguan/Dominican blend for the filler and binder, wrapper is Sumatran.
Price: Around $4.
Size: Torpedo (6" x 54).
Draw: Excellent.
Strength: This is a pretty mild cigar. Decent body to the smoke.
Burn: Burned gorgeously. Took one match to light and, despite wind, burned evenly all the way to the nub.
Impression: This is supposedly a very well-rated cigar, scoring a lot of 90s from leading cigar reviewers. It's also a relatively inexpensive cigar, so I had high hopes when I lit one of these up for the first time this past week. For the most part, I'd say I was fairly pleased. It smokes very nicely, with some complex leather and wood notes. The 5 Vegas Classic is rather mild compared to what I usually smoke, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's a very approachable cigar, it won't overwhelm your palate. As far as spice goes, there's very little there at all. Personally I like a little pepper in my cigars, but this is a great smoke for someone looking for a milder stick.
Value: This cigar is well worth the $4 asking price, and quality-wise competes with cigars priced in the $6-7 pretty easily.
Rating: 4/5 - Ballerrific.
